Just before Christmas the government revised its position of the energy feed-in tariff. It seems that although the decision to encourage solar power was sound, the practicalities of making energy companies pay such a high rate were causing problems, namely the fact that consumer bills were going up to compensate for their losses. As a result it was deemed prudent to lower the feed-in rate from 43p/kW to 21p/kW. As such there’s slightly less incentive to go solar.

The original idea was that with a feed-in tariff, energy companies would give anyone that was generating excess solar power a premium rate for the energy they put back into the system. Using a feed in meter, the consumer could track the amount of money they were making with their PV generators, as well as getting all the energy they needed for their home. The rate was so appealing that many companies began to offer free PV installation in return for feed-in profits.

So does this new change mean that solar panel companies are in trouble? Actually it doesn’t seem to be the case. The initial rate of 43 pence was a ridiculously good deal, so that even with a drop of 50%, there’s still plenty of reason for people to be going green with solar power. Companies are continuing to offer free installation in return for the current feed-in rate (which is still under consultation and could go back up).

On a personal level there’s as much reason as ever to make the switch to solar. It is a very green way of generating power, and it puts you in control of your energy costs – you won’t find that you’re subject to fluctuations in the price of other materials. Also after that initial payment for PV conductors you shouldn’t need to spend much more on it, so after about eight years you’re only making profits on your energy with the feed-in benefits.

Solar panel companies seem to be here to stay, and with more and more people looking towards energy alternatives, they’re likely to grow in popularity.

Before December the feed-in tariff was one of the best reasons for most homeowners to consider solar panel energy for their home. It was a government scheme, borrowed from a German idea, in which the energy companies were made to pay premium rates for all excess electricity generated by people with PV cells on their home. The idea was sound, in that it encouraged people to go green while they, or a free-installation company, took on the installation costs in order to reap the potential profits.

The problem apparently was that energy companies were having to pay too much to these little independent electricity generators, and were having to charge other energy users extra to cover the costs. Whether these sums really add up is debatable, but it’s certainly persuaded the current Conservative government. The problem is that solar power had really taken off, with lots of free-installation companies springing up to take in profits from the feed-in while giving users free energy.

What’s going to happen to these companies now is a bit of mystery. They might still be able to make money on the new tariff, as it’s still a fairly good deal, but whether this will translate to them installing PV cells at a cheap, but not free rate, or perhaps abandoning reduced price installation completely in favour of reaping installation profits is unclear. That question mark is making a lot of people hesitate about whether they should get solar power for themselves.

But this needs to be put in perspective. Solar power is a great option even without free installation. The potential benefits as a long-term investment can see you saving more than a hundred pounds a year on energy bills, and that’s with the current price of energy: things are likely to go up with the instability of fuel sources in the future.

Also, solar power installation companies are being cautious about free installation, but it’s not necessary unviable for them, especially with developing technology. So watch this space, and weigh up the benefits for yourself.

Solar energy has been proved to be cost effective and people are heavily investing to benefit from reduced electricity bills. Tragedies can strike if a solar panel is not secured using the proper solar racking equipment. You might be settling utility bill after massively investing in a solar energy production system. These are some tips to assist you when making a decision on the rack to buy.

Financial viability: People opting to invest in solar panels aims to minimize their energy cost. In many cases poor selection of racks considerably increases the cost of buying and installing a solar system. Rack producers use a wide range of materials and they weigh different. The bigger and heavier a rack is the more manpower it demands during installation. To economically install a solar panel the rack should be easy to put in place in the shortest time possible. Furthermore, a consumer can go for a seller who offers free installation.

Mounting surfaces: Panels are mounted on rooftops or on the ground and many racks are produced specifically for these two surfaces. Surface flatness or sloppiness affects selection, because panels must be angled appropriately, to increase sunlight absorption. When mounting on rooftops, a lot of drilling and cutting is involved and sometimes damages can occur. The rack should outlive harsh weather conditions to ensure continuous energy flow. Racks should be easy to dismantle to allow rooftop repairs or easy extraction of the panel for maintenance. Solar systems should be installed smartly to improve the appearance of the building.

Cost: Customers should compare drilling and cutting involved during installation of various racks and the way they will affect the building. Installation is affected by the flatness or sloppiness of the rooftop or floor determining panel angling. The aspect of dismantling and assembling of racks during roof repairs or system upgrading is also important. Nicely installed racks complement the appearance of premises.

Production capacity: Panel angles affects sunlight absorption and a rack must allow angling where full energy generation capacity can be realized. The angle is also determined by the time of the day when more solar power is needed. Proper angling minimizes reflectivity which reduces light absorption resulting to lowered power production.

System expansion: As a family’s energy demand continues to grow, the solar system should be improved to sufficiently meet demand. Buying new racking equipments after system expansion is not economical and this increases the maintenance cost. Some racks can be used to mount different types of panels hence they are effective when it comes to upgrading.

The racks should provide room for easy access during cleaning and maintenance to improve system efficiency. Some racks have automatic or manually adjustable frames allowing better angling while mounting on either sloping or flat surfaces. Some Manufactures produce suitable racks for their panels and it is better to enquire from those who have the necessary expertise.

The pain of losing a panel worth hundreds of dollars surpasses the effort of taking time to buy the correct rack. To ensure that energy cost remains low, suitable solar racking equipment that will secure the panel is essential. Before you celebrate your achievements ensure that all nuts and bolts are tightened.

The efficacy of a solar powered system depends a lot on the kind of mounting used. For the most affordable deals on solar modules racking equipment, visit the Solar Systems USA website for deals that will suit your needs and budget as well.

It tells you that investing in alternative power sources is good for the environment. It also points out that it is a good way to save on your utility bills. However, there is another reason to listen about renewable energy… How about improving your property value. This can be very important, if you decide to sell your home in the future.

The Value of Solar Panels

One of the main reasons people do not invest in solar power is the initial costs. Installation and getting started can be expensive. Yet, in time, the installation costs will be returned and then you will enjoy free power. If someone is looking to buy your house, a solar electrical power plant, can make the property very attractive.

When someone shops for a home, they are thinking about the mortgage and the utility payments. If these factors are affordable, they may consider buying the home. In fact, they may pay more for a house that has much lower utility bills. Lower utility bills can help to offset a slightly higher house payment, and this can make a big difference.

It is much less trouble and expense to purchase a house that already has an existing solar power plant. Also, there is no initial investment to worry about. Even if the property costs more than those in the area, the buyer may feel that the added cost is well worth it.

Solar Swimming Pools

You may need to decide between several houses that are for sale. One of them may have a pool that is not heated and another one may be heat pump heated. However, you may find a home with a swimming pool that is solar heated. You may not mind if the selling price is a little bit higher, as you will be getting more for your money with the solar heated pool.

Solar Powered Hot Water Heater

The prospect of all the free hot water that you want is very exciting. You may buy a system that provides instant hot water, but free hot water, is much better. If you find a home with solar hot water, it can be a good inducement to buy it.

Summary

There may be a renewable energy voice in your head and it may tell you about saving money. It also may remind you that you will be doing your part to help the environment. When people invest in alternative power sources, everyone on the planet benefits.

HVAC Technician Salary

Technician Schools

This time represent the golden years of the solar energy sector. The technology which was once far too expensive for most homeowners to pay for now is certainly not. This is owing to many government programs provided that you set about installing solar power systems on your own house in a certain manner.

The challenge with solar power for residences has always been the upfront expense. You will spend between $10,000 and $25,000 to get and install the panels. That’s a bundle for just about anyone. Until government incentives emerged, it was frankly way too much and the industry suffered.

The good news is the government made it a policy to promote renewable energy. Solar power was included in this, obviously. The end result has been the government will give out tax credits, loan guarantees and other financial assistance to defer the up front cost. This has made solar energy available to millions who other wise would not be able to afford it.

Do these incentives incorporate any catches? Of course. The idea is always to promote the energy platforms, so most require the homeowner to meet selected guidelines. These range from the kind of systems bought to how they are used on the structure.

The first requirement is you can only use the incentives with brand new systems. The point is to support the industry. Much like hybrid cars, used systems do not qualify for the incentive plans, so don’t waste your money on them.

The second requirement has to do with the use of the system. Specifically, the system must be used to create heat or electricity for the primary home. Panel systems used to heat the pool, for instance, do not qualify.

Finally, one also has to use certified installers to get the incentives. The government is trying to promote job growth through the renewable energy industry. If you try to install the panels yourself, you will miss out on the potential huge incentives that can save you so much.

Is all of this really worth the attempt? Definitely. The incentives which are now provided by federal governments, state governments, municipalities and in many cases local utility companies will save you most or all of the expense of investing in a panel system. That more than helps make the additional effort worth it.

Tapping the natural rays of the sun to create your own energy was considered a job for the pros not too long ago. Just the idea of deciding to build solar panels seemed tiresome and boring. Now your own house can fully light up and you can use all your electrical devices from your own self created panel.

A few requirements are needed to assist you build your own energy supply. To start off you will need a volt meter, a drill, saw and some silicon caulk. Note that you also need wood glue, plywood, wooden strips, solar cells, solar cell tabbing, aluminium tape, a sheet of Plexiglas, a sheet of peg-board, solder and a soldering gun.

The cells should of the same structure and range. A standard mono crystalline solar cell measures in a relation to 3 by 6 in inches. The number of cells will determine the rational dimension of the ply wood. Now that the size of the panel is determined it is time to go to the next step.

The following may take a small amount of hours to take position successfully. Use wooden strips that are no further than an inch solid and wide. Join a bordering of wooden strips on all sides of the plywood. Allow for the glue to fix and be solid.

The Plexiglas should be cut according to the outward general/whole dimension of the wooden strips. This is because the Plexiglas will lie on top of the wooden railings in the final step. It is also advisable to paint the panel board at this point. With the color of choice use a strong effective and durable paint because of the weather conditions. It should not be able to be affected by changing weather conditions easily.

According to the cells acquired you should know if they require tabbing or not. If they aren’t tabbed you will need to this by yourself. Outline each cell on the board according to their order of design. The soldering voltage must low since cells are very delicate. Make sure the board is properly put right and already painted, and it should be placed upside down and every cell outline drawn on the board.

Place silicone caulk carefully on the drawn outline that will hold each of the cells you have. It is not necessary to place too much caulk, just what appears adequate to hold the cells in place. progressively place the cells on the areas marked out with the caulk until the array of cells is complete. After this, place the whole assembly for some hours in the sunlight to allow proper setting.

The final part is checking if all the power is generated as expected. Take your volt meter and do some testing. If the power is satisfactory, close up the sheet of Plexiglas using the screws. Knowing how to build solar panels has never been this easy. Not only is it efficient but it is also cost effective, fun and affordable.

The goal of this article will be to provide all readers with Solar Panel Cost Comparison “Online VS Contractor”. This is because many people want to make the upgrade yet they are unsure over how to have such things done the proper way while still saving money.

So why on earth would anybody want to use this type of technology instead of standard electricity from the power company? Simply because after it is set up, it will be very cost effective. While there are some upfront costs people have to consider how much the power bill could be easy to cut. It is also important to consider how good this type of thing is for the environment as well.

While a lot of people seem to want to upgrade their homes with such technology, some wonder if there are other possible upgrade options. There is absolutely no reason that a person cannot upgrade a recreational vehicle or even a boat with this type of setup. The truth is that most people actually make these smaller upgrades first to have a chance to test out the technology before going all in with it.

Contractors are the strategy that most people that do not know anything at all about any type of carpentry are going to take. The bad thing about contractors is that they are going to have a charge for everything, especially their labor. It should also be mentioned that a lot of these companies sell equipment that they are being paid to endorse, and they sometimes even markup the costs of some materials.

Contractors are alright for people that have a great deal of additional funds, however most people are going to want to do it themselves. These people can buy the parts on the net. Not only will they save money but there is typically going to be a representative from the product provider that gives the needed information.

After people buy the parts that they need to setup something like this they typically turn to the web for step by step instructions. There are many sites on the web not only offering detailed graphs but also full motion, streaming videos. It is also important to consider that some people still like to buy a traditional book from the hardware store to assist their efforts.

The hardware chain store has really changed the fashion in which many types of contractor materials are being bought and sold. The Home Depot has been paving the way for many years now and many of these stores are also able to offer the consumer the type of solar materials that are being discussed within this article. The sales people at the store might also be able to provide useful information.

It is now hoped that every reader will consider this to have been the ultimate Solar Panel Cost Comparison “Online VS Contractor”. This subject matter is very important because many people are actually paying more than they should for such upgrades by hiring contractors.

You should look into these tough to beat online pricing right now. The best value for solar is system kits today. Come see what we offer.

An alternative to conventional power is the act of harnessing power from the sun using special equipment. This equipment offers varying degrees of solar panel efficiency depending on the types of materials used during construction. Existing models offer a rating of 6 percent to 13 percent and newer designs are offering a 20.4 percent rating.

Crystalline designs are more expensive to manufacture because the cost of materials which are required. This type of design makes use of silicon crystals to provide a higher rating than thin film models. Three crystalline types include mono-crystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, and ribbon silicon, the average rating for this type of design ranges from 11-13 percent.

The mono-crystalline silicon model uses one solid piece of crystalline which is attached to conductive materials such as copper and cadmium telluride. This type of design is quite expensive to manufacture, it is not as popular as other silicon models. Because the piece is cut from a cylindrical tube of silicon, it does not cover the whole area and is prone to leaving gaps in the frames four corners.

The polycrystalline model is created from silicon materials that are heated up and formed into large blocks. After the material has been formed it is left to coo and solidify, from there it is ready for the build process. The material is very dense to the savings are not as great as the mono-crystalline models, however this design is less expensive to purchase and is quite a bit more popular than other models.

Another silicon model is the ribbon silicon model, this design uses molten silicon to create ribbon formed pieces that are then attached to the conductive frame. Since the procedure utilizes molten silicon instead of hardened varieties, the process creates less waste than other designs. It is also quite popular since the cost is lower to manufacture, the companies who make them can offer consumers better prices.

The thin film design is less expensive than crystalline models because it does not require additional materials to produce. The manufacturing process involves applying the silicon directly to a variety of materials including copper and cadmium telluride. Since this style does not require the crystalline materials, the silicon is attached to the conductive materials in a film form. With the lack of crystalline materials the proficiency rating is a bit lower and averages approximately 6 percent.

With advancements in the area of solar panel efficiency, new models are being produced which offer an outstanding 20.4 percent rating. This is quite a boost from thin film models that offer 6 percent and crystalline models that offer 11-13 percent ratings. With the higher ratings comes higher costs and the new models are not yet available to the public for purchase, this is due to the cost of manufacturing.

Energy conservation with solar thermal is more than a possibility. With the right system energy can not only be conserved but also generated for a multitude of different purposes. It makes it possible to convert sunlight directly to electricity. This very simple system is so effective that it is a wonder that it has not been tried before now.

This amazing system is made up of flat metal boxes, which contain collector plates and a plastic cover. These collector plates are treated with selective coatings, and are made of aluminum or copper, to absorb and maintain the heat collected. They are specifically designed to absorb the sunlight and store it as heat until it is needed.

The standard system is most often installed on roof tops for maximum effectiveness. Each system contains a very unique circuit which is either filled with water or a combination of water and anti freeze, depending on the climate it is installed in. The heat is transferred to the liquid in the circuit and then carried through to the water tank. Most systems are driven by a pump but a solar water heater will be driven by a special siphoning system. This means a constant supply of heat or hot water, as and when needed.

For homes that have intermittent supplies from the main power grid, this system has proven to be really effective in many cases. Not only does this system conserve energy as a whole but it can also save a great deal of money. Fast installations and a simple set up, means real power when it is most needed.

The benefits for commercial and industrial uses can be multiple. The right system can replace a major drain on the power grid by providing passive solar heating to larger buildings, in a commercial instance. For industrial purposes it can reduce costs fairly effectively. Less power being drawn from the grid means less demand on the industry.

By making use of this wonderful renewable resources means far less damage to the environment overall. No drain on very limited resources, which has almost reached the end of their natural life. In fact the right solar system can even drive turbines which can feed power straight back into the main power grid. Alternative power sources such as these can mean a healthier and brighter planet for all future generations.

One of the most amazing features of this system is the fact that it can be used by small households right through to major industries. The costs are really affordable in the long term, as their should be significant savings on power costs. There will also be savings on natural resources and damage to the environment itself.

Initially the cost outlay may seem a little higher than expected, but in the long run the cost savings will be a lot higher. This means lower levels of pollution, less greenhouse gases and a much smaller carbon footprint overall. This a wonderful opportunity to save costs and the planet at the same time.

Energy as we all know is very important and we cannot live without it. But sometimes it happens that there is a shortage of energy then home made energy can be used to get out of this shortage problem.

As I have said above that energy or electricity is very important in our lives because almost everything is operated with the help of energy. Whether we are at our home and we need to use different home appliances we need energy for that. At night, we need to switch on the lights so that we could do different things that cannot be done in the dark. Whenever it is hot, we need energy to switch our fans or air conditioners on because we cannot live without that. Home made energy is the perfect solution to meet all these requirements.

When we are at the working place, we need energy to operate different machines, lights, computers etc. With the shortage or load shedding, we have to face many problems i.e. we cannot keep on working, cannot operate home appliances and cannot do other things that can be done with power.

Now the one thing is available in our mind that the way we could possibly get the answer of the problem. It’s very simple as possible begin using these energy producing systems. You will find various kinds of energy producing systems you can use in your own home to be able to make the needed energy. These could include photo voltaic electricity, wind electricity, photo voltaic warm water energy, micro hydro energy, construction and style of the structures etc.

In photo voltaic electricity, sunlight can be used to create energy. In wind electricity, wind can be used to create the energy. In serious trouble and micro hydro energy, water s accustomed to make the electricity during construction and style of building, structures are built and designed in a way that repel the sun’s rays light and your building awesome.

How can we get these home made energy systems? There are many manufacturers who offer these systems. There are different web sites that are also offering such kind of energy systems. You just need to place an order and get the delivery at your home.

Steve Watson has been energy writer for the past 10 years. He’s also an accredited researcher on the subject for leading research institutes in the US.Bill Ford’s home made energy ,however, is probably the only DIY project that I did right from the start up to the finish line.homemade energy saves you as much as $1000 per year on your electricity bill.
