It’s Easy To Save Money With Some Simple Energy Saving Tips!

One of the best ways to save money today is by only using the latest in light bulbs. The new bulbs today are excellent light sources and use far less electricity than those of yesteryear. I recommend that you stop buying the old types and as they burn out replace them with new state of the art bulbs.

It makes a lot of sense to lower the light levels. Use lower watt bulbs wherever you can. In particular this tip is good for your night time lighting. Light up your bathroom, hallway and stairways with some real low wattage night lights and you will see the savings.

Multiple bulb fixtures are another good way to lower the electric consumption by lowering the wattage of the bulbs. Why burn four 100 watt bulbs when four 40 watts would do? That’s a lot of light. You can even just loosen some of the bulbs in many cases.

An open refrigerator door is a huge loss of energy. Each time the door opens cold air spills out into the room. This cold air then needs to be replaced so your groceries can stay cold. Make the family understand that standing at the fridge with the door open is wasting electricity.

Turning the lights off should be a no-brainer! Get everyone to think on the same page and you will go a long way toward saving money on the electric. An average American home has the lights and TV running in multiple room and some are probably unoccupied.

Motion sensors work very well to save money. When you enter a room the lights will come on because of the motion of your body entering the room. When you leave they will turn off a few minutes later. There is a setting for the delay in how long they stay on before automatically turning off. It’s obvious how much you can save with motion sensors.

Timers work well too, and are very similar to motion sensors. You can set a timer to go on at dusk, off at dawn and any time segment in between. This is great for outdoor lighting or any place that you want to have lit during some set and regular hours.

All of these ideas are good solid money saving tips. With the economy like it is today there are more and more people looking to save a few bucks on their energy bills. Many of these tips will save a considerable amount of money if you can implement them and stay with it.
