Solar Heating Tubes Cut Costs

Environmental issues concern lots of today’s landlords, and using a solar energy system to supply your building’s water can do much to allay a tenant’s concerns. Whether you own commercial property, an industrial building or residential apartments, your prospective tenants will almost certainly be impressed by any building that makes use of green energy. Taking advantage of green energy sources when possible will give possible tenants additional incentive to rent your building space.

The fact that it will help save the planet isn’t the only reason to install solar panels. You will save significantly on your gas and electric bills by becoming less dependent on your gas or electric boiler. The savings you make can be used to add to your profits, or pass the savings directly on to your tenants.

Of course, using solar energy to heat water is not a new idea. Attempts to use solar energy to heat water have been with us since the late 1800s. However, while steady strides have been made to improve the available technology, until recently it was of limited use for heating in cold and cloudy regions. And these are the places where people need to cut heating costs the most. With the development of vacuum sealed solar heating tubes, however, more and more people are able to make use of a solar energy system.

Solar heating tubes’ cylindrical shape allows them to be positioned in such a way that part of their surface continually faces the sun, allowing them to absorb the sun’s rays for much longer than their predecessors. Because they can capture the sun’s rays more efficiently, they are able to harvest enough solar power to heat a building’s water even on cloudy days. The fact that they are vacuum sealed further helps their efficiency given that vacuums provide the right situation in which to insulate the heat source. This means less heating power is wasted. The heating element on the middle of the tube can be blazing hot, but the outside of the tube, insulated by the vacuum, is still cool to the touch. This will result in more of the solar energy being retained and used for its intended purpose, heating the water in your building.

Your building’s boiler system or hot water heater uses up a huge chunk of the power used in your building. You can significantly reduce your energy bills by installing solar heating tubes and letting renewable energy work for you. You only need purchase and install your solar heating tubes once, and the savings will last a lifetime.

This is the perfect time to start using green energy sources like solar water heating tubes. Governments all over the world now offer incentives to incourage building owners to install solar heating tubes that generates sustainable and renewable energy sources. A number of governments allow tax rebates that will cover most of the costs of installing these money and energy saving features. Eventually, all buildings will have to switch to using green energy. It would be best to act now, while the government is willing to help you with the costs.
