Solar Heating Tubes Reduce Heating Costs

Keeping pace with the changes in the rental market Can be difficult. As you probably know, there are basically two ways to keep yourself ahead in the real estate business. One is to increase your earnings, which often means raising the rent for your tenants; the other is to cut your operating costs. In today’s competitive business, raising your tenants’ rent might easily cost you more income than you would make, causing your tenants to look elsewhere. The market being what it is, it would be very easy for them to find others who are willing to reduce their rental prices. Consequently, the best approach would be to cut your costs. By installing solar heating tubes you could dramatically lower your heating costs and your carbon footprint at the same time.

Regardless of whom your tenants are, regardless of whether you own an apartment building, an industrial building, commercial, or any other kind of property, your tenants will require hot water. Powering your building’s heating system is probably one of your biggest costs. Using solar heating tubes to heat your water takes a large bite out of the amounts of gas or electricity you use to keep your tenants in hot water, therefore slashing your expenses (and increasing your profits) considerably. Whatsmore, solar heating tubes are a lot more efficient than solar panels and will function whatever the weather.

Solar heating tubes are basically cylinders that take in and store the suns heat. The shape of the tubes makes them more efficient, allowing them to receive sunlight early in the morning and during the evening. Solar panels, on the other hand, need direct sunlight and so can only take in energy for shorter periods each day.

Heat from the sun is absorbed by the tubes and stored internally by an inner tube of liquid. The fluid super-heats to 170 degrees Fahrenheit and is then introduced to your heating system. What that means, to put it in the most basic terms, is that your building’s hot water is heated by the natural heat of the sun. You can also reduce heating expenses by using the heated water to heat the entire building.

Whether or not you understand the details of how they work, the important thing is that solar heating tubes will reduce heating costs. This will give you an advantage over the competition. As climate change experts call for more people to switch to green energy, you should seriously consider investing in solar heating rods as one way to reduce heating costs. Look into government programs that could defer some of the costs associated with installing solar heating rods and other carbon free sources of energy production.

Of all the benefits outfitting your building with solar heating tubes, perhaps the best benefit to installing solar heating tubes to your buildings comes from the satisfaction your tenants have in knowing you are doing what you can to reduce expenses for yourself and for them. You may even find, should you be advertising for new tenants, that tenants are willing to pay more to rent buildings that are environmentally friendly.
